A whole range of water sports, as well as various boat excursions, catamaran cruises, etc., are available nearby.

The water-sports offering includes snorkelling, water-skiing, parasailing, scuba-diving, and deep-sea fishing (which is at its peak from October to April). Mauritius also offers several world-class golf-courses; deer-shooting (from June to September); and a fair number of spas and Ayurvedic centres which provide excellent health and beauty treatments.

Lively Grand Bay, some ten minutes away from Trou aux Biches by car, offers a choice of fashion and craft shops, hotels and restaurants. Grand Bay is also known for its night-life as it hosts most of the island best bars and night-clubs.

Finally, no region of Mauritius is short of places of historic, cultural or just spectacular interest to see and visit - parks and nature reserves, monuments and museums, or just places of great scenic beauty. One such place and a national treasure is the world famous SSR Botanical Garden (Pamplemousses Garden), the oldest botanical garden in the Southern Hemisphere, at Pamplemousses, not far from Trou aux Biches in the north of the island.
